WX-3 9600 Baud VHF Receiver

The WX-3 is a field frequency adjustable agile VHF receiver for 9600 baud systems that have a transmittted format, such as the signal from a Zephyrus WX-12/WX12 RTO package.

If you wish to perform VHF transmission at 1200 baud, it will be necessary to dedicate a computer with EMWINpro Retransmission software installed. This software allows you to select the 9600 baud products you wish to retransmit at the slower 1200 baud rate. It also permits insertion of local information.

EMWIN Receive Systems

The WX-12/13 systems consist of both indoor and outdoor equipment connected by an RG-6 coaxial cable. The outdoor package consists of a Low Noise Feed (LNF) and a 6 foot dish with optional NPRM. Indoors, the receiver unit connects to a computer. GOES signals are at approximately 1690 MHz and are essentially immune from rain-fade.

The WX-12 and WX-13 come with a 75ft RG-6 coax and RealEmwin software. The 6ft. dish is standard with a Pole Mount design. A KD6M Patio Mount is optional.

Re-Tranmission Option

The WX12/13-RTO retransmission option provides data for wire or VHF transmission.

The WX-22 system includes a Zephyrus 209 Receiver, RealEMWIN software from Skywatch Services, and a splitter to provide a signal to the 209 Receiver. Aiming of the dish is accomplished with a meter and variable pitch audio tone.

Upgrade of 1200 baud 209 receiver to 9600 baud is available. A one-day factory turn-around is typical.

If you need to receive VHF EMWIN 1200 Baud signals, and own a scanner, the WX-41 can be connected between the audio out of the scanner and your computer serial port. The WX-41 is "penny match box size", takes a 1/8" phone plug in, and has a 25 pin com output.

 

Original EMWIN signals were transmitted at 1200 baud on all satellite and terrestrial formats. 1200 baud satellite feeds were discontinued in 1998.
